Two saunas, a soaking tub and a jacuzzi on the terrace

The whole spa is inside the house and it is yours alone. No slot to book, no one else waiting.

Why it matters

This is the part that carries a long stay

A day in the Julian Alps takes something out of you, and what happens afterwards decides whether the next day is any good. Everything here is a corridor away and open at whatever hour suits you — two saunas, a deep tub, a gym, a billiards room, and heated water outside in any weather.

Two sauna doors side by side: a glass-fronted steam room and a timber Finnish sauna.

Finnish sauna and Turkish steam room

The Finnish sauna runs hot and dry. It is the one that gets into the muscles after a day on the mountain. The Turkish room runs at high humidity and far lower heat, which is the one for the skin and for breathing. Having both means choosing by how the day actually went, rather than taking what the house happens to have.

The soaking tub and the loungers

A tub deep enough for a long soak, and loungers to sit out the cooling-down in between. This is the part people skip and then wonder why the heat did nothing. The room is set up so that the resting is as easy as the sweating.

The heated jacuzzi

The jacuzzi is on the terrace and heated all year. It sits in its own corner, positioned so that nothing overlooks it — that placement is deliberate, and it is the difference between something you use and something you look at. The water is held at temperature, so getting in takes no planning: you cross the terrace and you are in it. From the water you have the terrace’s own view, taken from sitting height — Lake Jasna in front, the Julian Alps standing behind it. In summer it holds people long after dinner. In winter it is better: cold air, snow on the terrace, steam coming straight off the surface, and the mountains going dark above the lake.

The gym, the billiards table and the bar

A private gym, and a separate room with a billiards table and a bar in it. Both earn their space on a longer stay — one for the morning after a long drive, the other for the evening the weather closes in and five people need something to do that is not a screen.

Availability

All of it private

None of it is shared with another party, and none of it runs to a schedule. It is simply part of the house.
